Cuba Friendship Exchange

Thank you for visiting CubaExchange.org to learn more about the video, Cuba Beside US, and curriculum guide. This timely and emotional film documents Windsor Mountain's effort at bridging the personal and political gap existing between the US and Cuba.

Deeply meaningful friendships emerge as students share each others' worlds, vigorously debating political and life style differences, enjoying the universal pleasures of music, dance, family and ultimately a common desire for friendship and understanding: Above It All.

This movie will help you to bring meaningful discussion to your classroom on topics of politics, cultural differences, and history. It will also prove to be a good source of Spanish language exercises. Because the movie was created with students and is about students like yours, it is more accessible and meaningful to the current generation of teenagers.

The academic Curriculum Guide was written to help you easily integrate the social studies, history, and language lessons from the movie into your class. It includes maps, exercises, questions, answers, and discussion guides all linked to specific sections of the movie.

If you have questions or would like a free presentation on Cuban Culture at your school, please contact Sarah Herman (the manager of our Cuba Friendship program) at sarah@WindsorMountain.org.
